Juneteenth Reparations Weekend
A three-part Juneteenth program in New York City, connecting a rooftop kickoff, an HBCU-centered Brooklyn gathering and a community picnic through music, collaborators and shared cultural space.
The point of view
Why this had to exist.
Juneteenth deserves more than a single venue or format. The 2026 program connected a rooftop gathering, a Brooklyn homecoming and an outdoor picnic as different invitations into Black celebration and community. The work was to give each moment its own identity while connecting them through one weekend.
The people
After Daze · Rebel Events · Ghetto Scholars · Brooklyn Roots Collective
The intended feeling
A weekend with different ways to participate: an elevated kickoff, HBCU music and community, and time outdoors with friends.

Confirmed public attendance, reach and conversion figures are not yet available for publication. Internal planning figures are not presented as results.
Cultural footprint
The program brought together nightlife, HBCU culture and an outdoor community gathering across multiple New York settings. The connected formats are documented in the event plan; audience impact has not yet been independently measured.
Creative crowd engagement
The planned guest journey moved across three distinct formats rather than repeating one party concept: rooftop, Brooklyn gathering and picnic. Verified attendance and participant feedback remain unavailable for publication.
Partnership evaluation
The weekend involved After Daze, Rebel Events, Ghetto Scholars and Brooklyn Roots Collective. The available planning material documents a multi-partner production; partner outcomes and final performance measures have not been verified.
Tastemaker curation
HBCU-centered music, DJs and community collaborators were part of the program's creative direction, with each setting designed for a different pace and audience experience.
